The domain sales marketplace was established with a commission model but moved to subscriptions in January 2021, with both buyers and sellers paying a $149 annual fee. Sellers received no commission, and buyers had to pay the 5% Dan.com transaction fee. From April 1, sellers will be required to pay a 12% commission, while buyers won't have to pay anything.
This change could lead to an influx of new listings from non-paying sellers, raising concerns among some subscribers.
