The estate of Nissan Uzi claims that the domain was transferred to a different account at the registrar.

Uzi Nissan became well-known for his early conflict with the car company Nissan regarding his registration of Nissan.com.

Now, following his death, his estate alleges that someone has stolen nissan.com and nissan.net.

According to a recently filed lawsuit (pdf), the estate asserts that the domain names were taken from the account and moved to another account within the same registrar. The Whois records still display Uzi Nissan's name, but the lawsuit does not specify when the theft occurred.

The estate has initiated an in rem case against the domain names in the U.S. District Court in Virginia, which is where the .com and .net registry Verisign is located.

In the lawsuit concerning the stolen domains, the company mentions that Uzi Nissan spent more than $3 million battling against Nissan in an eight-year dispute starting in 1999.

It is unfortunate that even after an arduous legal battle during his lifetime, Uzi Nissan's domain names have now been allegedly stolen after his passing. This highlights the ongoing challenges surrounding domain ownership and the potential risks of unauthorized transfers.
