GoDaddy's Lead Center Provides Real-Time Updates on Domain Broker Activities

GoDaddy has introduced a new feature called the "Lead Center," which requires its domain brokers to report their daily activities, including mundane tasks like bathroom breaks and lunches. The Lead Center is part of the Afternic domain marketplace, which is currently in beta testing.



The press release states that the Lead Center will offer domain investors a comprehensive overview of their transactions, providing real-time updates on the broker's every move. This means that investors can now monitor when their broker takes breaks, what they eat for lunch, and how often they check their phone.

GoDaddy CEO Aman Bhutani said, "We understand our customers' desire for information about their domain transactions. By offering this level of transparency, we ensure that investors have all the necessary details to make informed decisions."

Opinions on the new feature are divided. Some investors appreciate the increased transparency and access to information, while others consider it unnecessary and invasive. One disgruntled investor commented, "I don't care about my broker's personal time; as long as they do their job, that's all that matters. But I wish they wouldn't pressure us into accepting low offers just to make a sale!"

Despite criticism, GoDaddy remains committed to the Lead Center and plans to expand its reporting capabilities, potentially including even more granular details such as the number of sneezes or phone call farts by domain brokers.

"We believe our customers deserve top-notch domain brokerage services," Bhutani emphasized. "If that means reporting every minute detail of our brokers' lives, so be it."
