I had a talk with Kristaps Ronka, CEO of NameSilo, an advertiser here at TLDinvestors.com.



He discussed his thoughts on the coming year, NameSilo's products, and more. In the last year, they decided not to sell the company and are happy to continue growing with their own resources, making investments in technology and expanding their offerings with new platforms. They released two new platforms this year, including NameLot, their domain brokerage product. They finished the year with over 2,000 users listing nearly 175,000 domains and hope to scale these figures up further in 2023.

As we head into 2023, Kristaps believes it will be an interesting year for the industry as external pressures, such as inflation and the volatile crypto market, may create uncertainty. However, there is reason to be optimistic as domain registrations grew 3.4% YoY across various extensions, and demand for domains is likely to increase, leading to more competition and innovation. NameSilo wants to be a big part of that innovation in 2023.

When it comes to transferring domain names, NameSilo offers low-cost domains with free features like WHOIS privacy, domain parking, and e-mail forwarding. They have also invested in customer support and domain investor-centric products like Catch.Club and NameLot, in addition to their domain marketplace. Their Discount Program allows domain investors to save on all extensions.

Regarding the NameSilo marketplace, some customers have complained about every good name seeming to be renewed. Kristaps acknowledges that there will always be consumers who don't like changes, so they do their best to balance them out without penalizing existing registrants or impeding auction bidders.
