Greetings,
I'd like to share a rather puzzling incident I experienced with Afternic and seek some guidance on it.
Around the end of November, I got an email from Afternic informing me that my domain name mydomain .biz had been sold through Afternic's Fast Transfer network. After waiting for 15 days, I reached out to support to check on the progress, and they asked for the Auth/authorization code, which I promptly provided.
After another 7 days, I contacted Afternic again, and this time they mentioned that they were waiting for the buyer to initiate the domain name transfer.
However, after 3 more days, I received an email stating:
"Unfortunately, we have not been able to verify your ownership of mydomain.biz. As a result, we have canceled the current sale for this domain, and we have removed the listing from your account.
Please log into your Afternic account to review and update all of your current listings so we can avoid this in the future."
This is my first encounter with such a situation. I have successfully sold many domains through platforms like Sedo, Dan, Squadhelp, etc., and this experience with Afternic is both inexplicable and illogical.
Has anyone else come across a similar issue with Afternic or have any insights on how to resolve this? I would greatly appreciate your input.
Thank you.
It's crucial to ensure that you have provided Afternic with all the necessary dоcumentation to verify your ownership of the domain. This may include proof of purchase, registration details, and any other relevant information that establishes your rightful ownership of the domain.
Upon reviewing the communication you received from Afternic, it's important to scrutinize the specific details or requirements they have outlined for verifying ownership. By meticulously examining the correspondence, you may uncover insights into any potential discrepancies or concerns that may have led to the verification issue.
If you have indeed provided comprehensive dоcumentation and are confident in the accuracy of your ownership details, it may be advantageous to seek a detailed explanation from Afternic regarding the specific reasons for the verification failure. Gaining a deeper understanding of the root cause of the issue can empower you to address it strategically and effectively.
In addition, proactively reaching out to Afternic's dedicated support team is paramount at this stage. Clearly articulating your concerns and seeking clarification on the next steps to resolve the situation can pave the way for a more expedient and satisfactory resolution.
Considering your extensive experience with other domain marketplaces, it would be prudent to explore alternative platforms for selling your domain, especially if the issue with Afternic persists. Diversifying your options can not only mitigate potential risks but also expand your opportunities for successful domain sales.
The intricate landscape of domain sales may present unexpected hurdles, but your vigilant and persistent approach to addressing the situation will likely contribute to a positive outcome. With thorough dоcumentation, proactive communication, and a willingness to consider alternative options, you can navigate this challenge with resilience and determination.
