Title: Two domains SEO optimization
Post by: norsingh on Feb 09, 2023, 03:55 AM
I am facing a situation where I have two domains- domen.net and domen.ua. Although both sites are identical, the images on domen.ua have been replaced. Therefore, it is particularly relevant for Ukraine.

To proceed with optimization without harming the main domain, what would be the best approach?

Your question regarding the phrase "Both sites are the same" is ambiguous. It could mean that you're using the same framework or that the content is duplicated on both websites.

If it's a matter of using the same framework, it won't affect search engine optimization as it's up to the webmaster.

However, if there is duplicate content, search engines will have a hard time determining which site is more relevant for a particular search query.

To resolve this issue, one solution is to generate unique content specifically for Ukraine as it has a different culture.

Alternatively, you can install a canonical meta link on each web page with duplicated content, which directs search engines to the canonical version. But keep in mind that all the juice will go to the canonical version, making the non-canonical version obsolete.

For more information on pages with identical content, refer to Google's manual.

If you want to avoid sanctions, it's important to adhere to the policies and guidelines set by search engines.

It's also worth noting that algorithmic penalties can reduce your website's ranking in search results. To prevent this, focus on creating high-quality, reliable content that meets Google's standards, and ensure your site is well-optimized from a technical standpoint to improve its overall performance.

Remember that search engine optimization is an ongoing process, and it's vital to stay up to date with any changes to search algorithms or guidelines that could affect your site's ranking. Regularly checking for broken links, eliminating duplicate content, and optimizing page speed are just a few ways to maintain your site's health and visibility in search results.
