Title: Defining "New Account" for Domain Push at Dynadot
Post by: sigma-sem on Nov 16, 2023, 12:42 AM
Hey there,

I've got a domain registered with Dynadot and I want to transfer it to another Dynadot account. However, according to the information on the Dynadot help page, new accounts are not allowed to push domains to other new accounts.
I just created my Dynadot account about a week ago, so I'm not sure if I can transfer the domain to another newly made Dynadot account (less than 1 week old).
I've reached out to Dynadot support for clarification but haven't received a response yet.

Do any of you happen to know what exactly qualifies as a "new account" according to Dynadot?

As of my knowledge cutoff, Dynadot did not publicly specify what they consider to be a 'new account' in terms of age. They, like other domain registrars, have various rules and restrictions in place to prevent abuse or fraudulent activity, and these rules can sometimes involve restrictions on transfers for newly-created accounts.

Usually, these timeframes range anywhere from a few days to several months (typically 60 days is a standard waiting period for many registrars, mainly driven by ICANN policies, although it's unclear whether this applies to internal moves within Dynadot).

The best way to clarify this would be to wait for a response from Dynadot's customer service. If you're not able to wait, another way could be to look more thoroughly through their forums or FAQ, or review the terms of service or user agreement you consented to when creating your account.
