What matters is not the URL type, but rather the number of clicks necessary to reach the intended page from the main one. For example, at icons8.com, we used to only provide links for search engines through sitemaps and had only a search form on our main page.

But, we eventually added links in the top menu, text, and footer to reduce link nesting and increase connectivity for search engines. However, judging by click maps, these extra links are rarely clicked, making it imperative to find alternative ways for users to reach the same pages. Despite this, the links will remain for SEO purposes.
