Title: On which platforms can html site be hosted?
Post by: robwilley on Mar 15, 2023, 12:54 AM
Can you suggest a platform for creating a website or blog that allows HTML editing? LiveJournal, for instance, only permits CSS editing, although it is still a satisfactory site. However, please refrain from suggesting hosting services, as I am unable to purchase domains.

uKit is a platform developed within the larger uCoz service, catering primarily to small and micro businesses, entrepreneurs, private craftsmen, and the service sector. It aims to provide a functional website that can be created independently, without the need for expensive web designers, programmers, or layout designers.

One of uKit's standout features is its utmost simplicity. It offers a wide selection of ready-made templates with pre-populated content for quick setup. Additionally, users have the option to generate a unique design based on an existing social networking page, currently limited to VK and Facebook.

While uKit includes an online store module, its functionality is focused on basic online trading capabilities. Examples of pre-built websites can provide insight into its capabilities.

Key advantages and features include:

- All templates and blocks are adaptive and free to use.
- A user-friendly block page editor with a clear interface.
- Integration with popular third-party services, including CRM.
- Unlimited SMS notifications from the website for important events.
- No restrictions on disk space or bandwidth.
- Each new site receives a fresh trial period, allowing unlimited testing.
- Automatic backups, with up to 10 backups per site.

In terms of cost, uKit offers a 15-day trial period (14 days for the online store module) and does not provide a free tariff plan. The minimum subscription price starts from $2.5 per month, with higher-tier options available for removing the platform's copyright and unlocking additional store functionality starting from $5 and $6 per month, respectively.

If you're looking for free quotas similar to Heroku or AppSpot, consider checking out GitHub. Another option to explore is www.ho.ua.

Give Dropbox -e a shot, as well as Tumblr, to try it out.

If you're looking for a platform that allows HTML editing for your website or blog, I would suggest considering WordPress.com. It offers a user-friendly interface and a wide range of customization options, including the ability to edit HTML directly in the editor. Additionally, it provides various templates and themes to choose from to help you get started.

In addition to WordPress.com, there are several other platforms that allow HTML editing for blogs. Here are a few popular options:

1. Blogger: Owned by Google, Blogger is a free platform that offers basic HTML editing capabilities. It's easy to use and provides a variety of templates to choose from.

2. Tumblr: Tumblr is a microblogging platform that allows HTML customization for more advanced users. It provides a simple and intuitive interface and supports custom themes.

3. Ghost: Ghost is a minimalist open-source platform designed specifically for blogging. It allows HTML editing and provides a clean, distraction-free writing environment.

4. SquareSpace: SquareSpace is a paid platform that offers a range of attractive templates for websites and blogs. It enables HTML editing, giving you more control over the appearance and functionality of your site.

5. Wix: Wix is a popular website builder that also supports blogging. While it primarily focuses on drag-and-drop design, it does offer HTML editing options for those who want more flexibility.

note that the level of HTML editing capabilities may vary among these platforms. Some may offer more advanced customization options than others. I recommend exploring each platform to determine which one best suits your needs in terms of features, usability, and HTML editing capabilities.

Try Neocities or GitHub Pages for raw HTML tinkering - both let you push pure markup without domain hassles. Blogger's another classic, offering HTML access but with Google's ecosystem shackles.
WordPress.com? It's often touted but restricts you unless you pay up - a classic bait-and-switch for "free" blogging. Meanwhile, Medium's slick UX hides your HTML behind a WYSIWYG curtain, frustrating devs craving control.
