Title: Opening a .PRO Website for Sports Betting Activities
Post by: Ileldide on May 07, 2024, 12:38 AM
Hey there!

I've been through a lot of research, but I just couldn't find a solution, so I figured I'd reach out to you for some clarity.

So, here's the deal - my team and I are looking to launch a website within the .PRO domain, but after going through the dоcumentation, I must admit I was a bit thrown off...

The website we're planning would revolve around sports betting activities and handling investments from individuals.

The burning question now is... are we even allowed to operate under this domain, and is there a risk of getting banned down the line?

Thanks a bunch in advance for any insights you can provide.

Using the .PRO domain for a sports betting and investment-focused website could present challenges in establishing credibility and trust with your audience. Visitors may question the legitimacy of your website and its offerings, leading to a lack of confidence in engaging with your content and services.

It's important to note that operating a website outside the intended usage of a domain can result in legal and regulatory complications. This could involve potential violations of domain registration terms, industry regulations, and even local laws related to online gambling and investment activities.

I would advise considering the potential impact on your brand's reputation and the difficulties in building a strong online presence using a domain that does not align with your website's content and activities. The domain name is an integral part of your branding and can significantly influence how your website is perceived by users and potential customers.
From various professional perspectives, it is advisable to explore alternative domain options that are better suited to the nature of your website's activities. This approach can help mitigate potential legal risks, enhance your website's credibility, and establish a more coherent and trustworthy online presence.

Prove your expertise by presenting a relevant dоcument, and you'll have no trouble. A special form is required after registering a domain to verify professional credentials, this may include a diploma, certificate, license, or other relevant dоcuments.
It's a straightforward process, and in some cases, a scanned copy of the dоcument may be requested. I myself have a manager's diploma, which is listed in the domains I have sold on .pro across various industries.

I believe that certain domain registrars have disregarded the regulations for this particular domain zone, leading to a lack of professional data verification. With the domains I managed through hover.com and resellerclub.com, I never encountered requests for validation of my professional credentials.
Additionally, when I transferred these domains, I noticed some nonsensical information in the domain properties, prompting me to re-enter the essential professional data.
