After examining all available threads, I couldn't find an official .xyz thread. Therefore, I propose this thread to discuss this subject.
To begin, here is my first registration of an xyz domain: SH3.xyz
The SH stands for Shanghai. It may not have considerable worth, but I prefer short domains in new extensions. Given that most numeric domains are already taken, I thought why not avail of the low registration fee. Plus, it has a nice ring to it.
I have acquired these XYZ domains, and I am not interested in selling them to anyone here. I intend to hold on to them until I receive the right price. While I possess ten other domains, I prefer not to list them as the ones mentioned are superior.
The domains that I have include POCKET, MOZART, PREMIERE, CAPTURE, FENDER, NSFW, RECOVER, NYCC, PINY, YELP, EXAMINER, AFF, and TAS.
The administrator of the .XYZ domain zone, XYZ management, has been fined one and a half million dollars by the court due to a lawsuit from the US Federal Trade Commission. It was discovered that they were guilty of selling clients' personal data to third parties, including potential fraudsters.
The private data was sold on certain trading platforms without any verification of the potential buyers' intentions, causing the personal data to potentially fall into the hands of fraudsters.
Despite the conflict, the primary activity of the company, the sale of domains, remains unaffected. The FTC did not impose any restrictions that could adversely impact the domain business. The credit "business" was conducted on third-party resources, primarily in the .COM zone, rather than the .XYZ zone.
