According to ICANN, Epik is no longer in violation of its registrar accreditation agreement.

However, it remains uncertain whether the contract can be transferred to the anonymous new owners. The registrar has paid its overdue fees and provided an explanation for the delay in customer renewals. ICANN Compliance chief Jamie Hedlund has stated that measures will be implemented to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. Currently, Epik can continue operating without a contract suspension, although many customers still harbor distrust.

ICANN is currently evaluating Epik's request to transfer its accreditation from Epik Inc to a new entity called Epik LLC. The owners of Epik LLC have yet to disclose their identities. Due diligence must be conducted on the buyer before approving the transfer. However, Hedlund notes that this case is complex and is anticipated to take several months.

Last month, Epik LLC acquired the old registrar for nearly $5 million. This purchase comes after a challenging period during which customers claimed to be owed substantial sums of money. Some speculate that Epik founder and former CEO Rob Monster is behind Epik LLC. However, court dоcuments from a customer lawsuit include emails from Monster that suggest he was not involved.

It is crucial for ICANN to ensure a transparent and secure transfer of ownership in order to protect the interests of both Epik and its customers.
