Do long domains hold any value? If so, at what point do people tend to give up and say that they are not worth anything?
Although there may not be a definitive answer, I am curious about the prevailing beliefs on this matter.

I have two perspectives on the matter. The first is from a sales standpoint, where shorter names or ones that are easily found in the dictionary are preferred. Alternatively, from a business perspective, I recently regretted not owning needhosting.com. Although it may not be the best choice for a main domain name, it would be excellent for redirecting traffic to a primary website.

Furthermore, some individuals try to sell humorous domain names, such as thebestdomainnameeverregistered.com. While these may have some value in search engines and for those who find them amusing, they can pose challenges for targeted customers who struggle to remember them. Ultimately, the decision is up to you. Personally, I am interested in acquiring a two-letter domain name.

Determining the ideal length for a domain name is not an exact science. A few additional considerations come into play, such as how easy it is to pronounce, if the words flow together nicely, and if they are simple to spell. Ultimately, it depends on your objectives and the particular words you select for your domain.

Personally, I would prefer to use a domain like qualitydrinkingwater.com rather than one like 4qw.com. However, as a general (but not absolute) guideline, I suggest seeking domain names that sound good and have fewer than 15 characters.

Hi! It seems to me that short names, if composed correctly, convey the essence of the site very well. 5 characters should be enough here, but in my opinion it is better to make names in which the full key will be present.

The length of your domain name directly impacts how others perceive it and, most importantly, how they remember it. As a general rule, shorter domain names are preferable. However, if the name is too short, such as an abbreviation, it may be challenging to read and recall.

On the other hand, excessively long domain names should also be avoided. The ideal length for a site address is between 10-12 characters. If you select a domain name that exceeds this limit, try to shorten it using logical abbreviations. Use only recognizable and straightforward abbreviations, avoiding slang or obscure terms that could be incomprehensible to your target audience or search engines.

One approach is to choose a domain name based on relevant keywords and associative words. This strategy not only helps with search engine optimization but also makes the name easier to remember. This option is particularly useful if you have a specific field of activity or use special terminology that is understood by your target audience. While domain names are not the primary factor in search engine ranking, selecting a name based on keywords can help drive steady traffic to your website.

It seems to me that the domain should still not be too long and easy to remember. If the user remembers the domain, he will be able to get to the site not by key queries through a browser search, but directly at the site address - which will increase the chance of going to your site, and not to your competitor's site.

I made an experiment - when I created new forums, I took names of different lengths without meaning and long names, but having informational meaning. The latter won. People want to register on forums that have a meaning in the names.

The value of long domains can vary depending on various factors. In general, shorter and more memorable domains tend to be more valuable because they are easier for people to remember and type. However, there may still be some value in long domains if they are keyword-rich or relevant to a specific niche or industry.

As for determining when people give up and say that long domains are not worth anything, it's subjective and can vary from person to person. Some may give up on long domains if they find it challenging to market or if they believe there is little demand for them.
Others may see potential value in longer domains and continue to invest in them. Ultimately, the perceived value of long domains is influenced by individual perspectives and market trends.

In reality, the value of a domain name is subjective and depends on various factors, such as industry, niche, brandability, and memorability. A long domain can be valuable if it's a perfect match for a specific business or brand, but it's often a double-edged sword.

On one hand, a long domain can provide a competitive advantage by being more specific and targeted, making it easier to rank in search engines and attracting relevant traffic. Additionally, a long domain can be a great asset for a business that wants to establish a strong online presence and build a brand around a specific keyword.

On the other hand, a long domain can be a liability if it's too hard to remember, type, or pronounce. It can also be a challenge to market and promote a long domain, especially if it's not easily brandable or memorable. Furthermore, a long domain can be a target for cyber-squatters and domain hijackers, which can lead to legal and financial issues.

In my experience, most domainers and web professionals tend to agree that a long domain is worth something if it's well-structured, easy to remember, and has a clear brand identity. However, the point at which people tend to give up on a long domain varies. Some might say it's around 15-20 characters, while others might argue it's 25-30 characters or more.
