I will make a reservation immediately - we will discuss basic websites.

Since 2011, I have been earning money from my small SDL through sape, with up to 2000 users per day. Overall, I have withdrawn around 2 million since 2011. During the peak times, I was making $50 per day, which had a significant impact on my financial income.

However, the sape commission of 20% + minusinsk finished off everything. The website that used to bring in $40 per day now only brings in $10, and it decreases every day as the links are no longer accepted.

I have tried displaying banners and using Google AdSense, but the earnings are simply ridiculous. They are practically nonexistent. It baffles me why small websites continue to display these unprofitable types of advertising.

What will happen to SEO? How can I monetize now? :(

Given the changing landscape of online advertising and search engine optimization, it is important to adapt your monetization strategies. There are several options you can explore:

1. Diversify Revenue Streams: Look for alternative advertising networks and affiliate programs that may be more lucrative for your website. Consider partnering with brands directly for sponsored content or product placements.

2. Explore Native Advertising: Native ads blend in with the overall design and content of your website, providing a more seamless user experience. This type of advertising can often generate higher engagement and revenue compared to traditional banners.

3. Focus on Content Quality: Invest in creating high-quality, valuable content that attracts and retains users. This can help increase organic traffic and improve your website's overall performance.

4. Build an Email List: Collecting email addresses from your website visitors can be a valuable asset for future marketing campaigns, such as promoting products or services directly to your audience.

5. Consider Subscription-Based Models: Depending on the nature of your content, you could explore implementing a subscription-based model, where users pay for exclusive access or premium content.

6. Explore E-commerce Options: If applicable, consider setting up an online store to sell products related to your niche. This can be an effective way to monetize your website while providing value to your audience.

7. Sponsored Content: Collaborate with brands or businesses in your niche and offer sponsored content opportunities. This can include writing reviews, creating sponsored posts, or featuring sponsored products.

8. Affiliate Marketing: Join affiliate programs related to your website's niche and promote products or services through affiliate links. You earn a commission for every sale made through your referral.

9. Membership or Premium Content: Offer exclusive membership or premium content on your website that users can access for a subscription fee. This can be in the form of premium articles, videos, courses, or any other valuable content.

10. Consulting or Services: If you have expertise in your niche, consider offering consulting services or other related services to your audience. This can be done through one-on-one consultations, coaching sessions, or providing specialized services.

11. Sponsored Events or Webinars: Organize sponsored events or webinars where you can partner with relevant brands or experts in your industry. This can be an opportunity to generate revenue through sponsorships and ticket sales.

12. Donations or Crowdfunding: If your website provides valuable information or resources, you can consider including a donation button or set up a crowdfunding campaign to allow users who appreciate your work to support you financially.

Remember to assess the needs and preferences of your target audience before implementing any monetization strategy. It's important to strike a balance between generating revenue and maintaining a positive user experience on your website.

1. The fall in your site's performance has been significant, with a decline of about 3-4 times since the start of 2016. However, it seems like the decline has stabilized and is no longer dropping rapidly.

Both your experience and mine demonstrate that monetizing sites with links is still possible, although it might not provide the easy income we were accustomed to. The key is to understand that it requires more effort and cannot be relied upon for quick money.

There is undoubtedly a significant amount of low-quality content in platforms like Sape. I have come across numerous doorway pages and believe that we need a different tool or exchange that enables us to redistribute funds from low-quality sites to high-quality ones.

While direct sales of advertising, including links, are still viable, many webmasters have grown used to relying on link marketplaces like Sape, neglecting other options.

One alternative approach is shifting towards paid content, provided that it offers value. Although I have reservations about paid comments on platforms like TJournal, the fact that they still exist suggests that someone is willing to pay for them. Consider implementing paid comments, closed sections, or similar strategies.

It is worth noting that the crаckdown on link sales has affected narrowly themed sites with low traffic. While this is positive as it reduces the number of zero-traffic domains, it can also impact reputable sites.

Looking to the West, Google guidelines and practices surrounding link buying and selling continue to exist, albeit in different forms. Unlike our open link exchanges, they employ more covert methods such as link managers and press releases for such transactions.

Moreover, the internet encompasses more than just articles. Have you considered exploring SaaS (Software as a Service)? ;)

The proliferation of articles in recent years was driven by their relatively low risks and decent profitability. However, profitability has declined while the risks remain, resulting in reduced attractiveness.

Interestingly, even prominent websites sometimes face challenges. For instance, the CPU and TJournal collaborated to cut costs, highlighting that not everything is bleak solely for small sites.

As a result, we find ourselves in a period of pause. We can wait for someone to introduce a new monetization method or take the initiative to invent and implement our own techniques. The situation has changed, and it is up to us to determine how we adapt to these developments.

The claims that SEO has no prospects are unfounded, as nothing has disappeared. SEO is still valuable in terms of generating organic traffic for a website. However, it is crucial to understand who the target audience for this traffic is and whether they will find it interesting.

There isn't a direct correlation between attendance and income in SAPE. Filtering donors to exclude low-traffic sites is not a common practice. Despite this, sites with good traffic tend to utilize other monetization methods.

Adsense and similar platforms are not straightforward. Merely placing a few banners on a website won't guarantee significant profits. Even the color of the frame around an ad can impact revenue. Low bids can also limit earnings, as not all traffic is attractive to advertisers.

Profitability of teasers, affiliate programs, and other methods depends on the nature of the website's subject matter.

Direct advertising is a viable option, but the site needs to stand out from its competition in terms of positions, design, or unique features to grab attention. Alternatively, one can actively search for advertisers, though that is a separate topic.

Monetizing through exchanges can be advantageous when a fresh website can quickly generate maximum profits before being abandoned. I cannot speak to the relevance of this method now, but it was prevalent in platforms like GGL and Mirka in the past.

It's tough when changes in commissions and link acceptance impact your earnings. As for SEO, focusing on quality content and user experience remains crucial. To monetize effectively, consider partnering with a performance media agency. They can help optimize your ad strategy, exploring diverse revenue streams beyond traditional ads. Diversifying income sources, such as affiliate marketing or sponsored content, can mitigate reliance on a single platform. Keep adapting to industry shifts, stay informed about SEO best practices, and explore innovative monetization avenues for sustained financial success.
