Can you share your routine for creating duplicate copies of your data and the locations where this activity takes place?

I employ automated backup solutions that are specifically tailored to the type of data being duplicated. For website content, I utilize tools that can create full backups of website files, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and media assets. For databases, I implement backup solutions that can capture the entire database structure along with the data itself, often using technologies such as MySQL dump or SQL Server backups.

Once the backup process is initiated, duplicate copies of the data are stored in multiple secure locations. These include on-premises backup servers housed in our data centers, which provide immediate access to the duplicated data in the event of hardware failures or data corruption. Additionally, redundant off-site backups are created in geographically diverse locations to protect against regional disasters or data center outages.

For local backups, I utilize enterprise-grade storage solutions such as RAID arrays to ensure data redundancy and fault tolerance. Network-attached storage (NAS) devices are also used to store duplicate copies of the data, providing scalable and easily accessible backup options.

In our institute, we utilize Handy Backup server version for creating backups, and these backups are stored on the institute's SFTP server. Additionally, we have implemented a private WebDAV cloud using ownCloud, which has been serving us well for the last six months. For the most frequently accessed files such as work projects, articles, and videos, we rely on Dropbox and other cloud storage solutions.

At home, I prefer using Linux and have developed a process to back up large volumes of data using the dd command, which allows me to copy data at the logical level. Furthermore, I have set up a cron job to execute a script that efficiently copies all types of working files to Google Drive.
