Hello there.

I am having some trouble comprehending the process of creating backups in ISPmanager 5 lite.

I am puzzled by the fact that the backups created on the first day are significantly larger than those created on the second day. Could you explain why this is the case?

Furthermore, I noticed that when I look at individual user backup files, the ones from yesterday are much heavier than those from today.

Do you have any insights on how these discrepancies can be resolved or avoided?

It seems like the fifth version of the software is currently outdated and no longer utilized. Personally, I prefer to conduct backups by utilizing the ssh module with my computer's terminal.

This method has proven to be quite reliable and efficient for me. How do you typically perform backups, and have you ever encountered any issues during the process?

Wrong. It is used and even sold on the official site.

And the question wasn't how you do backups or how to do backups at all. The question was about something else.

When I installed version 5 on my server, nothing worked until I upgraded to version 6. And this is from the official dоcumentation:
Please note! For licenses that were purchased before 10.00 a.m. UTC on 08.04.2021, LTS phase support will be provided until the end of the license period. If a license was purchased later, it will be supported until and including December 31, 2021.

So it's a bad installation. I bought my last license in '22 and everything works.
It only says about support. You don't really need it. It does not affect the performance.
The sixth is just unreasonably expensive. It would be easier to buy the free analogue. The fifth version is several times cheaper.

It is very likely that on the first day a complete backup was created on your server, and on the second day - only changes. Upgrade backup, that's how it usually works.

Thanks. That's what I thought too. But how to apply these changes do not understand) But just in case, sometimes I just delete the intermediate copies and re-do a full backup.

I'll know the prices now. Thanks for the good advice. If two things cost different, but perform their functions equally, probably not worth paying more.

The best option is to set automaticly backup in ISP manager (I was using ISP manager 6), and if you have limited local storage, you can set total size limit for each backup file, so the data will be compressed every time it'll be backed up. Also make sure you have set right number of backup copies, like you can set 1 or 10, whatever you want.

Nothing worked for me either after installing the fifth version. I will definitely take your advice and install the sixth version. I hope everything will be fine.
