Former OpenAI and Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon sat down with NBC News to discuss his viral warning about AI.
He believes there is a "substantial probability" that AI could wipe out humanity by the end of the next decade.

In the interview, Coxon explains the exact reasons behind his resignation from Anthropic, breaks down his major concerns regarding current AI breakthroughs, and discusses potential steps to prevent disaster.

Do you think his warning is justified, or is it just doomer hype?

think the warning is worth taking seriously, but I wouldn't say AI will definitely "kill us all." AI is developing very quickly, so there are real risks that need proper regulation and responsible use. In my work at newbielink:https://nearlearn.com/ [nonactive], I'm seeing how useful AI can be for learning and productivity, but human oversight is still important. I think the focus should be on using AI responsibly rather than being afraid of it.
