HostPro vs DigitalOcean for Laravel

I'm looking for a VPS for a Laravel application and I'm currently deciding between DigitalOcean and hostpro.com.

The application uses MySQL, Redis and queue workers, and I'd like to stay around $20–30/month. I don't necessarily need a managed platform, since I'm comfortable administering Linux myself.

Hostpro.com looks interesting because their VPS plans provide KVM virtualization, NVMe storage and root access. For this kind of workload, would there be a significant reason to choose DigitalOcean instead?

I'd especially appreciate feedback from anyone who has actually used both.

I do believe VPS accounts from scalahosting.com and inet.ws are the best options for you.
To me, main things which differentiate between top hosting companies and average service provider are :
- Experience
- Good Servers
- Low Cost
- Simple Hosting Panels
- Speedy Support
I think these hosts fit in all of these well.

One thing to look at when choosing a VPS is the provider's backup policy. HostPro keeps daily backups for 30 days and allows you to restore specific files, folders, or databases without necessarily recovering the entire server. Their VPS infrastructure uses KVM virtualization and NVMe storage, and you can choose between Warsaw, Amsterdam, and Tampa.
