Google Registry has launched a new top-level domain called .day. The registration process started with early access, where the cost of the new TLD ranged from $180 to $16,420 for premium domains.

The general registration opened in February, offering a price of $20 per year. To learn more about prices and participating partners, visit the new.day site. Several leading brands have already registered domain names such as BlackFri.day, CyberMon.day, and Valentines.day.

I am curious if having such domains will provide any advantages in Google search results. It is logical for large corporations to acquire these domain names to prevent competitors or others from taking them.
but, small businesses should weigh the pros and cons before deciding to do the same.

We can only say that Google is really to big to fail  ;D
I think such companies will invest a lot in the domains they've started.
And what do you think? What future does the .day have? Will it be successful?

The new top-level domain .day aims to offer a specialized space for websites related to significant and memorable dates, as well as important events online or offline. This domain name provides Internet users with more options for selecting second-level domain names.
The registration process for .day is instant, so users can begin using their new domain immediately.

Pretty creative domain ;)  But I suppose it will be popular until all the red-letter days will be registered. And I haven`t seen a lot of companies that have the word `day` in the name  :-\

The early access phase for registration had some quite high prices for premium domains, ranging anywhere from $180 to an astonishing $16,420. It's kind of shocking to see those numbers, but I guess it reflects the demand for catchy domain names.

Now that the general registration has openned up in February with a much more affordable price of just $20 a year, I think it will invite a broader audience to register domains. The concept of .day is really unique; it allows businesses and individuals to create thematic web addresses that can resonate with specific days or events. Just think about the branding opportunties here.

Also, I've already spotted some major brands that have jumped on board, like BlackFri.day and CyberMon.day, which perfectly align with their respective marketing dates. It's clever, and I'm sure many other brands will follow suit, creating an even bigger ecosytem around this new TLD.
The new .day domain could be very beneficial in setting the tone and expectation of what visitors might experience on the site. Overall, I am excited to see how this new domain will grow and what creative ideas people will come up with using it. For those interested in learning more about pricing and partners, visiting the new.day site is highly recommended.
