Post by: SHADOW_FANTOM on Jun 18, 2022, 02:13 AM
New updates have been released by cPanel for all public update tiers in order to address security concerns.
The updates have CVSSv3 scores of 2.2 to 6.5 and are available to all customers through the standard update system. Those who have enabled automatic updates do not need to take any action while those who have disabled it are strongly advised to update their cPanel & WHM installations as soon as possible.

The new updates have resolved 8 vulnerabilities in cPanel & WHM software versions 78, 76, and 70.
Further information will be released by cPanel regarding the nature of these security issues on January 22, 2019. More details about cPanel & WHM Versions and the Release Process can be found in their dоcumentation at https://go.cpanel.net/versionformat.

Is the new update version 76.0.18 available? I'm still receiving the previous version, 76.0.17, during my update attempts.

There are several alternatives to cPanel available in the market. SPanel is a lightweight web hosting control panel that is advertised as being "cPanel compatible". It provides users with a one-stop-shop for managing their web hosting accounts, making it suitable for shared hosting accounts and Virtual Private Servers (VPS).
Furthermore, SPanel does not attract royalties and has an intuitive interface that beginners can quickly adapt to.

Webmin is another alternative that offers a user-friendly interface for remote user account management, DNS, file sharing, and more. It simplifies the management of Unix-based servers, although some people find it more complicated than necessary.

ISPConfig is a web-based control panel that is commonly used by resellers to manage and administer websites, from small personal sites to large corporate level sites.

DirectAdmin has a unique feature called DNS clustering, which allows communication with other computers running DirectAdmin without DNS duplication issues.
