I'd start with MDN and freeCodeCamp, then build small pages instead of only reading books. Learn HTML semantics, forms, accessibility, and basic SEO, then move to CSS, responsive design, and JavaScript.

Beyond frontend, understand HTTP, DNS, hosting, Git, databases, browser DevTools, and basic security. Don't obsess over HTML syntax - without CSS and JS, you'll struggle to build anything beyond a static page.
